4:19 pm - tired...
|
So I've decided that I think I want to be an RA next year. I think I'll look for an apartment junior year or something. It's just too convenient to live in the dorms again. I like it. Cathy's considering it too and she already went to one of the info meetings. I'm gonna go tonight, possibly with another girl in our hall. I need to talk to her.
Anywho. Homework time now.
But first guess what?!?!?!
I CAN DRAW NOW!!!
Well, sort of. People, no less! It's crazy!

4:47 pm - Help!
|
Okay peoples, I need your help. I'm talking to Thomas right now, and he's being his normal stupid self, 'cept he's making me feel stupid too. He says that stuff is going on with the juniors right now, and I have no idea what the heck he means. And him being his normal self, refuses to explain. So if anyone has any idea what he means, please explain, cuz Mr. Thomasina sure won't. Thanks bunches.

11:11 am - Kazan, O'Brien, and Fr. Paul can all go ROT in HELL!!!
|
OMG!!! f****** BIOTCH!!!
I only had one final to take today. One. Biology. So I get up and get all the way to school (more on that adventure later) at 8:00 in the morning. So I walk in, and that poor excuse for a couselor, Kazan, is talking to the class.
Apparently, "The request was made yesterday that there is not enough time to prepare for your biology final." TOTAL BS!!!!
And, according to Kazan, again, "the solution to the problem" is that we get to take it this friday. This is soo *^&%*#$%@^$^& messed up!!! Most of us are juniors, and therefore, have lunch period 06. So on friday, instead of getting to leave after the 05 testing like the rest of the juniors and seniors, we get to take the fuckin bio final which we should have taken today, but didn't CUZ SOME IDIOT WENT INTO KAZAN'S OFFICE TO COMPLAIN, AND NOW WE ALL MUST SUFFER!!!!! We didn't do anything today. Watched a movie, and then went over the final. I DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO COME TODAY!!!! God it pisses me off so much, you have no clue...Just be glad that you're not talking to me in person about this right now, cuz I guarantee that I'd be just about ripping your head off....
So afterwards, Megan, Jamie, Erik and I went into Kazan's office to ask why she's pulling this crap with us and to try (unsuccessfully) to make her see how unfair it was to do it to us. And do you know what her response was???? Well, to sum it up....
Too F*****n Bad
And for some extremely odd reason, the poor sophomores (and frosh...1, I think) start theirs at 8:30, not at 8:00 when the 05 test starts. It ends at 10:00, which is when 06 starts, and, while none of them has a class 05 (its their lunch) many have an 06 class. God, you don't know how screwed up it all is...
Yeah, I know I should be doing my history assessment, its due tom, after all, but I can't focus when I'm this pissed. With some things, it can motivate me, like, how to fix the whole thing. Its when I have no way to fix it (Yeah, I know, I know...stoicism...) that really gets to me. I dunno, maybe its a good thing that Hell Week is next week, it'll help get rid of all this. Mostly cuz we're all too tired to care. That, or, we're so tired we get grumpy and will get angrier at things than normally...Either way, I look forward to it. Muchly.
And you know what else I find disgusting????
First of all, she barely remembered ANY of our names....
Second when we went in, she was talking to us about college kids pulling all nighters. "So what?" you may ask? Well she was speaking to us like we were a bunch of little kids who knew nothing about college life. Alright, so none of us has gone to college, yes, I will admit that. But that does not, under any circumstances, mean that we don't know anything about it. On the contrary, it is her job to be telling us about it. A task of which she is failing miserably. *sigh*
I just can't believe it...
[Later]
heeeheeeheee.....my dad and I just got back from my dentist. It was sooo funny....we came home through San Timoteo Canyon and theres this place where they're digging or doing some construction of some sort. So there's this crane about 100 ft away or so. We're stopped, so we started to watch it. He turned and started to turn around. He turns 90 degrees! ...180 degs... 360 degs!...and...wait...another 360...and another 360...
DUDE, HE WAS JUST TURNING AROUND IN CIRCLES!!! And then my dad turns to me and goes, "Hey, we finally caught one of them goofing off!" It was so funny though! And I don't have any cavaties! I've never had a one. Yet. And I plan to keep it that way. But dude it was hilarious! kk, well I gotts to finish that assessment, then take notes for the test, then study for the test, and then study for my religion test, seeing as how I have that one tom, too.....Is it Hell Week yet?...

7:01 pm - no curse is strong enough for that asshole of a director sabel
|
I know that I promised no more Midsummer rants, but I guess that that just won't happen till after its over. Cuz after reading about what he did to lissa, my anger flared up again. okay, ready?
And I'm gonna leave this as public cuz I want everyone to know about this.
First off, I have to admit something thats REALLY been bugging me ever since yesterday. I...I had my heart set on being stage manager for Midsummer. say what you will, but I was Assistant Stage Manager for Dracula. Needless to point out to sabel, I KNOW WHAT I AM DOING!!!!!!!!!!!! It just angers me because this is my third year of ND theater. My 5th production. And it took 3 years to become the Assistant Stage Manager. And I had to ask him for the job. This is Thomas' 1st year of ND theater. Only his 2nd production, in fact. AND NOW HE'S FUCKIN STAGE MANAGER!!!!! I HAD TO WORK MY WAY UP THE FUCKIN HARD WAY TO GET TO WHERE I AM NOW AND HE JUST FUCKIN COMES IN WITH ALL HIS ASS-KISSING AND GETS THE FUCKIN JOB WITHOUT EVEN FUCKIN ASKING FOR IT!!!!!!!! And I know how stupid this is, but I was an inch from tears last night.
Thomas IS a great guy, and I have no doubt that he'll get the hang of it. Eventually. But with a cast like this, THE LAST THING WE NEED IS A FUCKIN NEWBIE AS THE FUCKIN STAGE MANAGER CUZ THE FUCKIN STAGE MANAGER RUNS THE FUCKIN SHOW!!!!! Yes, I am quite bitter at the entire situation with Midsummer, every bit of it. its more than its worth and I have half a mind to quit right now. But I don't want to. Cuz I know that they need as much help as they can get. But if sabel keeps downing all of the veterans, he's not gonna have any left, and the next show will be ALL newbies.
God damn him. If he had started working more with Midsummer at the beginning, WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS FUCKIN MESS!!!!!
I want to thank you Mr. Sabel. Really. For down-sizing all of us veterans, who have given each show our all. And who have never complained about any of your ridiculously late-night rehearsals. And who really do listen to you and know just what we are doing. But, oh no, don't mind us...keep right on shunting us to the side and ignoring us, those little newbies are picking right up on our bitter resentment towards that and are not understanding where its coming from or why. they are just learning to resent you also and to not listen to you, thereby making you angrier and giving you more reason to yell at us all, and, ultimately, confirming the newbies feelings that you hate us. The veterans are the ones that know better, yet with your attitude towards us, no one is inclined to stand up for you. Again, they think its because you simply hate us all. So they will, of course, pass those feelings on to the incoming newbies, who either will take the same mindset or simply not bother with theater at all, and therefore, making the race of the actors and techies...extinct. Yes, we thank you Mr. Sabel.
I am so close to tears, you have no idea. One thing that I can't stand is stupid people. Not people that act stupid or can't help it. Truly stupid people. And that is exactly how sabel is acting right now. I mean, I know that he's basically adopted Thomas as his surrogate son, but that doesn't mean he has to play favorites. And no one can say that he isn't.
Think about it. If it were a hiring job and I came in with a resume that stated I had done 3 years of theater and was recently Assistant Stage Manager, and Thomas came in with a resume that said that this was his first year and had only been an actor (sorry, not downsizing actors here, just making a point), who would get the job??? Who SHOULD get the job??? Do they??? OF COURSE NOT!!! Hard to believe from the wording used, but I am not mad at Thomas. Maybe a bit jealous, I admit...but..just a wee bit!!! I really do place the blame with sabel, as it truly is his fault. fuckin asshole. if you trace back every bad feeling that has come up in the process of this show, i have no doubt that sabel will pop up in it somewhere. Maybe there really is a bit of jealousy here, and maybe thats whats speaking right now, but it really is unfair of sabel to do this to us all. I think that lissa prolly feels the same right now too- that we have been robbed of our rightful jobs.
ps. I apologize for all the cussing, but thats how strongly I feel about this. Theater is my family. My other family. Where I have all the older brothers and sisters that I never had. You guys ARE family, and I love you all, and sabel is the biggest fuckin excuse for an asshole I've ever seen.

6:43 pm - Just a continuation...
|
Well, just consider this a "sequel" (I guess...) of yesterdays rant.
I do know that the only reason they did Midsummer was b/c of the size of tryouts and they thought of it at last minute. I know that. And I also know that, in essence, there were not supposed to be ANY people in Midsummer that had done Dracula. It was supposed to be two completely separate plays that had two completely separate casts and two completely separate crew members.
But thats not what happened. I don't really know how so many people (mostly crew) got into Midsummer, except say that they talked to Mr. Seitz, which is exactly what I did. But the problem with throwing this show at us/them like that was that we had no notice. I know that many people that dropped did so because they thought they were trying out for Dracula, yet got put into Midsummer.
Sabel just did the show to make it fair to the new peoples that don't know how it works. I know he was just giving them a chance (come on, you gotta give him credit for that), but I think the plan horribly backfired. There were no "veterans" in Midsummer (save for about 2 or 3), and they became used to Seitz's easy-going sorta ways. Then, after being walked all over by virtually the entire cast, he could deal with it no longer. And he quit. And THEN, the newbies got a REAL taste of theater, as we all know it.
But, again, there was no one to look up to to see how to handle Sabel (which really like is an art in itself) So, like you said Kristle, they had no clue how to react to him or his ways, so they start bitching and moaning about him, without changing a thing. Its almost as if they have resigned themselves to the mindset that Sabel hates them. Which just simply isn't true.
Okay, I didn't want to start this up again, but thats what happens whenever you get me started on this topic. *shrugs* the whole point of this was just to let you know that I DO know why they had all the newbies in one show. I was simply stating that, looking at it, it doesn't seem to have worked. But I really hope (pray, more like it) that I will be sitting here, the week after Production Week, looking back at the performances and actors saying, "It was good."

|
OHMYGOD!!! you ALL must go and see the Haunted Mansion right now! call me crazy, maybe i haven't yet recovered from Dracula, but they were soo similar! it was almost scary!
1) the owner of the house is "THE MASTER" 2) the butler did it!!! 3) the story line is extremely close. the "Master's" wife-to-be dies and he waits thousands of years for her to return. as w/ dracula, he finds a person that looks amazingly close to her and tries to marry her. hence the "vision of the MASTER'S fallen queen".....

geez minelli, i just read inuchans latest entry... just to let you know, i just about fell outa my chair laughing so hard. its hilarious. read it.
well, i got home from my aunts house- they live 10 minutes away. it was pretty fun. we all ate dinner then played trivial pursuit. twas ok.
i talked to my cousin about letters and jackets. he's a sophomore at north and lettered in swim last year. his school doesn't have that stupid, "you have to go to all the meets, all the practices, and make two separate lettering times to get your letter..." oh well. i shall get my swim letter this year. i am soooo happy that i have my theater letter... so yous all know, he said he got his jacket from a place on magnolia i believe... Monograms, Inc. i think was the name. and the whole package was about $150. not bad, considering that mr. hargis said that the place that we get our letters from sold jackets for $350. not bad at all. the whole package includes:
the jacket letter sewn on first name on front your school's name W/ mascot (erin, its optional) last name on back
i think thats it, but it looks really cool. im starting to decide what i want it to look like. i really cant wait; its gonna be so cool... i like the way his jacket looks. he has the royal blue w/ the off-white sleeves. i think i want green sleeves.... i dunno; im still planning it. but its gonna be awesome. i really want it and my parents are proud of me for lettering. i find it just a bit ironic because, while they have never discouraged my love for theater, they haven't exactly encouraged it. but i am very proud and cant wait to actually have my letter and get my jacket. kay, i think thats enough ramblings for one night. bye bye!

of course NOW i realize that i could have- should have -taken his ring.... typical me, though. and i had the perfect opportunity today, too... oh well... i think i've decided to do the tech olympics. it sounds cool and my mom agrees that it would be best to just sort of watch it all this year, rather than actually entering events. yeah.... stupid paperwork. soo many pages... and i still have to do my bio study guide, math hw, french hw, and the last 2 pgs of my history study guide. what fun. at least toms a half day and then a 4-day weekend. but that means i won't get to see him till monday. *tear* but i think i'll live. he loves me; he just doesnt know it yet. yep, yep... he'll see the love.
"Kiss the ring. I'm the Godfather. KISS IT!!!"
yes, he worries sometimes. too bad he cant go to ITS. i happened to look at his nose today and remember when he was "headbanging and his helmet hit him"? well, it was all pink today. i dunno if it was just today, but it was funny. very much so. i almost said something, but the bell rang right after the ring incident. okies, i've still got a crap load of hw to do, but i must first take a shower, so i'm gonna go now. bye-bye!

I knew it. I knew it! there WAS a football game yesterday!!! HA! see, i know these things. don't ask how, i just do. TOLD YOU SO! anyways.... practice was good yesterday, but i agree w/ jenn, mr. seitz is too lenient w/ the cast. i mean, i know that most of them are new at it, but still. they all need to practice their lines DESPERATELY!!! though it doesn't open till january something, they need to get as much into their heads as possible now, before they can do any more. oh well. us crew can keep them in line. he he he... but one thing that seitz said bothered me. he said that they couldn't start "acting" until they knew their lines. and sabel isn't the best director, true, but he gets everyone right into acting, as soon as they have their script, basically. i don't know, maybe seitz is wrong, maybe sabel, all i know for sure is that sabel's technique of teaching them blocking right away seems to work well. it gets it into their heads as they learn their lines, which can possibly help more. but no, don't listen to me, i'm just rambling on like the crazy person i am.... ^_^ so yeah. boys are stupid, good-for-nothing, only-good-for-heartbreaking jerks. tell me something i don't know. k, well, hopefully this week will be better than the last one. hopefully. see yas all tom! *Chal*
